I am a polymer clay artist with a wide variety of creative interests that keep me engaged in the world and feed my soul. I currently live in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. Early in life I completed a BFA from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and then an MA in Anthropology from Trent University. Although my focus in art school was fine art, specializing in drawing and painting, my art production gradually diminished once I began my graduate degree. It remained that way for quite some time as work, family life and other interests prevailed.

 

About 12 years ago I stumbled upon polymer clay as an “at home” mom sharing creative exploration with my young daughter. Together we began making and selling food jewelry. While my daughter’s attention soon turned elsewhere, I was hooked!

 

Although my polymer work has been an eclectic mix of techniques, style and subject matter, a focus on more sculptural pieces has emerged in recent years in the form of fairy portals. Many of these were created as custom orders which has challenged me to take my work in unexpected directions. I really enjoy the process of interpreting other people’s visions and bringing them to life.
